Well, even though it may not be as air tight as, say, a builder agreement, a handshake deal is still a contract. Perhaps nowhere is that more true than with regard to the builder arrangement. Businesses are hired to do projects of all types for all types of clients. While it’s good to answer the phone, learn that someone wants to contract for your services, and give you a whole lot to get it done, it really doesn’t hurt if you previously have prepared a builder arrangement that insures both your interests before begin. It allows the client know what kind of people they are hiring, while also protecting you by somebody who works loose with the notion of what a business contract would be.
